The K-12 Child Safety Curriculum
Protecting children takes more than good intentions. It requires a practical strategy that fits into a busy school day. We built our curriculum specifically for schools, government bodies, and foster care organizations. You can drop it right into any educational setting without a hitch.

Self-defense courses are usually restricted to a gym, but we teach students how to set strong boundaries and spot red flags right from their desks. All of our lesson plans focus heavily on mental engagement and situational awareness.

The Freedom Fighters Story
Founder and CEO Taylor Talley discovered that there’s a critical gap in child-safety initiatives. Most efforts focus on recovery while overlooking education and prevention. Talley gathered a crew of educators, trauma experts, and policy professionals to address this issue. Together, they built a program rooted in the classroom, the site of real learning and development. Our child-trafficking prevention curriculum integrates situational awareness, boundary-setting, and practical self-defense.
The program now empowers children in schools and under-resourced communities across the nation.

Taylor Talley
Founder
Taylor Talley is the Founder and CEO of Freedom Fighters Prevention. Guided by resilience, faith, and her background in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, she is dedicated to empowering the next generation through prevention and education. She is also part of the CPAC for the Combating Human Trafficking Coalition, further advancing her commitment to protecting children and communities.
After Jiu-Jitsu gave her the physical and emotional strength to recover from a life-threatening medical condition, Taylor was inspired to create a program that gives vulnerable youth real tools to protect themselves.
She knows the Freedom Fighters Program isn’t another initiative, it’s the solution. It gives children the practical prevention skills traditional systems fail to teach. Taylor’s insight comes from lived experience, nonprofit leadership, and a lifelong commitment to protecting children. She’s seen what doesn’t work, and she built what does.
Freedom Fighters is the answer because it equips children to stay ahead of danger, not just survive it.
Along with Freedom Fighters, Taylor is the CEO of Carousel Productions, and assists with operating one of the most successful traveling amusement parks in the United States. She also serves as President and Founder of the Malro Fighters Foundation, a nonprofit focused on raising awareness and improving the lives of patients with severe intestinal conditions.
Michele Sandefur, Ed.D.
Michele Sandefur, Ed.D. is an experienced educator, school leader, and university instructor with 19 years of experience across private and public education. She currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Dallas Baptist University, bringing extensive K–12 teaching and administrative experience to her work preparing future educators and educational leaders.
Much of Michele’s career has been spent serving students and families in Title I schools as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. As a Turnaround Principal at an elementary campus facing significant academic challenges, she helped increase the percentage of students passing state-mandated assessments from approximately 30–45% to 78–84% within two years.
Michele earned her Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M International University, her Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Texas Woman’s University, and her Doctor of Education in K–12 Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University.
Throughout her career, Michele has focused on student achievement, instructional leadership, educator development, and creating environments where students and teachers can thrive. Her commitment to empowering students and educators directly aligns with the Freedom Fighters Prevention Program’s mission to equip young individuals with the knowledge, confidence, and skills to recognize risk, protect themselves, and make safer decisions.
Frank Russo
Frank Russo Jr. is a Partner at Modern Fortis, a political and strategic advocacy firm. He is a leading voice in anti-trafficking policy and legislation and also serves as Director for CPAC’s Center for Combating Human Trafficking. He uses his expertise in advocacy and public policy to help guide and strengthen the mission of Freedom Fighters Prevention.
Rubens “Cobrinha” Charles
Rubens “Cobrinha” Charles is a legendary Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion and ADCC Hall of Famer, widely regarded as one of the greatest in the sport’s history. He supports Freedom Fighters Prevention by helping integrate self-defense and discipline into its mission to protect vulnerable youth.
Cris Cyborg
Cris Cyborg is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and the only woman to achieve the MMA Grand Slam, earning world titles across every major promotion. She supports Freedom Fighters Prevention’s goal to empower young women with resilience, self-worth, and the courage to speak up.
Gary Reeves
Gary Reeves is an Emmy Award–winning producer, Big Picture Learning board member, and servant leader committed to creating meaningful impact. He supports Freedom Fighters Prevention’s mission to help bring critical resources to vulnerable youth nationwide.
Ursula Valverde
Ursula is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt who teaches personal safety, emotional regulation, and resilience. In addition, she is certified to work with autistic youth, helping to reach vulnerable populations. She supports Freedom Fighters Prevention by assisting with training that empowers high-risk youth with confidence, awareness, and life skills.
